For children, birthdays are the best days. It’s their own special holiday that celebrates nobody but them, so it’s no wonder why kids look forward to their birthdays with so much anticipation.
As a parent, you want to make sure that your little one has a birthday party that will dazzle and delight; a day that she will remember forever. Instead of just throwing up some balloons and crepe paper streamers and putting out a cake, here are some simple, yet totally awesome tips that you can use to turn your child’s birthday party into the best day of the year.
If you want your child’s birthday party to be a big success, you are definitely going to want to plan well ahead of time. Give yourself at least a month (though even more time will give you even more peace of mind) so that you will have enough time to get everything organized and ready to go in advance of the big day. The last thing you want to do is scramble to get decorations, plan a menu and organize party games just days before the party.
Pick a Theme
Picking a theme for the party will make your child’s birthday even more amazing. Choose a theme that relates to something your child is really into: Superheroes, princesses, cars, sea creatures, carnival party long island; anything your child is really into will serve as an excellent party theme and make for a fantastic setting.
Once you select a theme, infuse it throughout the different elements of the party. For instance, if your little one adores superheroes, add some flair to the party space with superhero party decorations, make (or order) a cake with a superhero theme and plan activities that have to do with superheroes. Not only will a theme make the party amazing and transform the space into your child’s dream come true, but it will also make it so much easier to plan! You won’t have to struggle with trying to pick decorations, activities and favors that your tyke will love; just choose items that tie into the theme and you’ll be good to go!
Plan a Tasty Menu
It’s no secret that kids are picky eaters, but they need to eat. Appeal to the masses by planning an enticing menu filled with kid-friendly items. Hot dogs, chicken fingers, pizza and chips are all foods that kids tend to love. Try to incorporate the theme of the party into the food you are serving to encourage kids to eat (children tend to overlook eating when they are engaged in the excitement of a party.) For instance, if the theme is superheroes, you could call chicken fingers “Robin’s Wings” and nacho chips “Catwoman’s Claws”; you could even get pint-sized guests excited about eating options that are good for them by naming a fruit platter “Super Fruit”.
Don’t overlook the adults when you’re planning the menu. Make sure you serve some tasty finger foods that adults will enjoy so you can keep grandparents, aunts and uncles and any parents of party-goers who stay throughout the event happy.
Incorporate Fun Activities
The old standby party games like “Pin the Tail on the Donkey” are fun; but, if you really want to amp up the fun factor, go big when it comes to activities. A bounce house rental, for example, will definitely make your child and his friends super happy and will ensure everyone has something fun to do. As an added bonus, kids will go home tired (and the honoree will be ready for bed) after spending the day bouncing away!
